There are quite a few people on this forum that have taken delivery of their S4's with S-Tronic. I'd like to hear from them if this is also happening on their vehicles.

Here's the question, did you depress your foot fully to the floor (including the "kick down" detent?)

What you should do is apply full throttle, but being careful NOT to depress the kick down detent. This is still full engine power. I think the problem is when you engage the kick down detent, you override your own shift requests.

Where are you located? What dealer did you visit?
sounds right. I tested the kickdown today in the a3. If i was going real slow in 4,5,or6th at under 2 thousand rpm, it would dump to 2nd gear on a fast throttle input, even without the kickdown. It would have lugged pretty bad if it had not downshifted though.

At normal use, above 3000rpm only a full to the mat would cause a kickdown gear from the indent.

For my driving, the car has never dropped a gear in manual mode before, because I ask for the downshift before applying the heavy gas...like a manual. Never lug it either, bad for a new engine especially. boosted motors would ping like mad if it wern't for the timing retardation. In the end the engine electronics would have you way down on hp if it allowed full throttle at very low rpm.

I took a brief 20 minutes test drive this afternoon. The car shifted exactly when I wanted. I came away very impressed with the car and have absolutely no complaint about the transmission.

Not trying to be disrespectful but you have a Corvette with an auto and you are disappointed withe the S-tronic? I found it rather strange. I can understand that if you are coming from a manual then maybe that is true but from a conventional auto it is hard to comprehend.
