Default "Spring-like" vibration in the accelerator pedal?

Upon starting from a stop I occasionally get an odd vibration from the gas pedal (B8.5, DSG). The best description I can come up with is that it feels like a coil spring dragging against the pedal. Has anyone else noticed this sensation? It makes an audible sound too.

Yes! I mainly notice it when the car is in cruise control and it eases off the gas because there is a car in front. I'm not alone (or going mad)

Does it only happen when you first start the car and begin driving? If so, that is probably the ABS system check.

That's the only time I've noticed it. ABS system check you think? It's good to know it's normal and intentional. Thanks.

It happens to me on long journeys when the car is up to temperature (typically highway driving on cruise). And often I am not even touching the gas pedal. The "clink" is a bit like a metallic heat-expansion noise or a bit like the noise of a Pixar lamp being moved around.

What electro-mechanical stuff is there around the gas pedal anyway? Like I say, I don't even need to touch the pedal for it to occur.

Perhaps I am alone after all?

Your description fits what I am experiencing in my car.

So can anyone shed a light on what is going on down by the gas pedal? Does the cruise control actually physically move anything down around the pedals? What might be the source of the noise?

I get this too. Seems like it's just when I start the car and initially slowly pull away.. It almost feels like the clutch is slipping briefly before engaging. Doesn't happen when starting from a stop afterwards, though. I'd love it if it was just an ABS check. I was getting paranoid that there was something wrong with the DCT and I only have 600 miles on the car.

I haven't noticed it since I posted on this thread. Beats me.

The same thing happens on my A4 with an automatic, so I doubt it has anything to do with the DSG.
