Hey guys - bought a 10' S4 with 11,400 miles a week ago......perfect shape, like brand new, great options. I knew it had the Stasis exhaust but was not aware it had the tune. Called AOA to check on open recalls and they let me knew about the engine tune along with the exhaust and the TD1 flag. The warranty is up in two months anyways.

I am having second thoughts about keeping it....the extra power and exhaust is great to have but I was planning to buy an aftermarket to cover any big things that may pop up in the next 4 years......I've read a lot about aftermarket denials with "mods" so somewhat paranoid about it. At this point I can return it, buy the same car with 3k more miles but is CPO and come out even.....

Thoughts?


Also for fun, anyone remember the Audi Fox? That was my first car, 76' green audi fox.....I got hooked from then on...

Is it a S Tronic or 6MT? If its a S Tronic, Has it had the mechatronics unit replaced? if not that could be a real concern, it's quite a known issue in the 2010 cars.

Get the CPO. These cars can get expensive to fix when they are out of warranty

It comes down to the question if the mods really appeal to you. If so, keep the car, buy an extended warranty from a reputable company (BBB rated, good reviews, etc) and enjoy the heck out of the car. I'm biased however, I love the mods

It's DSG....the exhaust is cool on anyway you shift it....but a transmission issue on a 10' with a tune and an aftermarket denial is not....

I don't think the mechatronics has been replaced...I talked to the Audi location that serviced it and they did not mention it....the stasis was not installed until late 11' they said....the orig owner left in a Frank Sinatra media so i figure the car was not beat on.....it is literally new...

Just a quick follow-up. I did return the 10' Prem+. Bought an 11' CPO Prestige with Sport Diff, side assist, etc.....happy I did it, I have a warranty into 17' now....and it was less $ because the aftermarket was going to be spendy and chances they would not cover some due to Stasis tune.

I don't notice any different in horespower but the Stasis exhaust was a lot cooler sounding that is for sure....
