Default S4 Road Test Results

I picked up my S4 about 6 weeks ago - added a few mods (APR Stage II - but with stock exhaust) and am really enjoying it. Being a bit of a car junkie, I'd done my research - had looked at them back in '09 - early '10 but went another way when it didn't look like the upgrades were going to be available right away. To the point. The road test C&D did on the '10 model had the car running a 4.9 0-60 and about 13.3 (as I recall) in the quarter. I figured the mods were worth at least a half second on both - but then I grabbed a more recent Road and Track while traveling and see they tested a stock car at 0-60 in 4.4 (actually two times: 4.4 and 4.5) with a 12.9 quarter. Which makes the times Arin is publishing make more sense (both unmodified and post modification), and the high 11's that have been published here, too. The question is: What do you think the car really does stock, and what does a DSG car like mine run 0-60 and for the Quarter? I did a quick search on the forum on this subject and didn't find any threads...

Thanks -

Tim

I believe that in 2010 those were car and driver estimates. Multiple publications have routinely clocked the car in the mid 4s with quarters just below 13. Pretty amazing for a 4000 pound car with 333HP/325 lb-ft. Think Audi may be fudging the numbers

I've done 4.5 plenty of times with nothing but stock. Took my spare tire and tools out and was able to hit 4.4 once.

Ummm, no.

I defy you to show me a magazine or website road test of a stock DSG car showing a 1/4 mile time quicker than 13.1. Every test I've read has shown 13.1-13.4. Road and Track's test was of a 6speed car, and their 12.9 remains the "outlier" rather than the average.

To answer the OP's question, DSGs seem to average about 13.1-13.2 @ 105ish and 4.9 0-60.

My car was tuned when I bought it, so I don't have stock runs to report, but with the tune only (STaSIS) I ran 12.9 @ 106.5, and after adding an intake I ran 12.7xx @ 109.

There was definitely a drop in 0-60 times. Didn't the later tested cars have launch control?

L/C was added (though it's not officially acknowledged by Audi) for the 2011 model year in the US.

There's a 13.001 that shows as a "stock" run, but that's a mistake - I know the guy who ran it (clochner), and as a matter of fact have been to the track with him a couple of times. His car had a Miltek exhaust on it when he ran that time , so not stock.
(plus the DA was negative 180 feet)
