Default Polishing/Cleaning Tail Pipes

Anyone suggest a good product for cleaning and polishing the chrome tail pipes? Mines look like they have never been touched...

A veteran member of the forum suggested Collinite 850 metal polish for the exhaust tips. I made a note of it but still haven't picked up some to try...slacking

I just use a wheel cleaner but an APC (all purpose cleaner) probably works fine as well. Any of the dozens of products in either of those categories is probably fine. For that matter, Formula 409 or products like that probably work as well.

Haven't had a need to apply polish yet since I only have soot, no dark marks that don't easily wipe away, but any chrome or metal polish should be fine.

You can use #0000 (superfine) steel wool and water to remove any really stuck on grime. It won't harm the finish. After that, use Collinite 850.

Ahh, thanks. I have to give Collinite a try. Mines have a lot of grime that seems almost baked on now.

This is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway: do any of you clean the inside of the exhaust tips or just the outside?

WD40 and #0000 steel wool work the best as far as I'm concerned!

I try my best to clean the inside of the pipes too. It is probably pointless, but at least I know they are clean!

Once I get the pipes clean, I will post before and after pics...
