Default New Tires Recommendation

My 2012 S4 needs a new set of tires. The ones that came with the car (Conti 255/35 ZR 19) only lasted me 18,000 miles so I'm looking for something that will still perform but will also last a little longer.

Any recommendations?

Also, I am considering trading in the car so how much value, if any, will I get for the new tires?

If you're thinking about trading it in then do you need long-lasting tires? I wouldn't bank on getting much special consideration from the dealership for fancy tires on trade-in. I think they mostly look to see if there is enough tread that they don't have to buy new tires. I don't think they care what tires are on there.

I'm impressed with the Sumitomos (on my other car) and they're relatively inexpensive.

Kumho Ecsta LE are relatively inexpensive at $176 each at Tire Rack. I don't know anything about this tire, but it is called a Max Performance Summer tire.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Stiff sidewalls, tons of grip, great wet performance, and come with a 30,000 mi treadwear warranty

My car has ADS. Can any tire shop change the tires or it needs to be done at dealer? I dont need new tires yet. Just curious. Sorry for slightly off OP's topic.

If you want good performance I also suggest the Michelin Pilot Sports. I have them on my S6 and the S4. But I suggested Kumho because you mentioned cheap but good tire.

Sorry not a fan of the Michelin PSS, for the money that you dish out I would rather get either the Bridgestone RE-11'S or the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec. I have had both but the best tire I have ever had for the track was the Dunlop. I have run it as Seabring in both wet and dry and OMG it was amazing. only took about a half of lap and they where up to temp and the grip was always there. Now only two complaints with them, first they turn to hockey pucks at like 50 degrees but you can get them to temp just takes a little while. Second on a hot day they get kinda greasy after like 5 laps and you need a chance to cool them off. Now the Bridgestones where pretty sweet also and had a little better tread life than the Dunlops. But performance was almost the same just not as good as grip but close enough.
