When I bought the car I had an OG Droid that didn't have this issue.

Then upgraded to a Droid Razr, and did not have this issue. However if Audio (Bluetooth audio mod) and Audi MMI were connected to my phone simultaneously I would hear audio drops on my Music very frequently.

I recently upgraded to a Galaxy S3 and have 0 issues with it.

I've had no problems on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus on ICS 4.0.4 or Jellybean 4.1.1. I did have some bluetooth wonkiness with my bluetooth headset and not being able to deactivate A2DP, but that was using a nightly kernel and the problem was fixed in a later version.

Perhaps try rooting and changing your Kernel? I've had good experiences with Franco Kernel. The Franco Kernel control panel app even has an option to backup and restore your current Kernel, so there really is no risk.
