Default Navigation MMI Question

I have a question I am hoping someone has the answer to. I have a 2010 S4 B8 model with navigation. My question is, does anyone know if this is a 2G or 3G version? My unit only has 2 SD card slots with a cd/dvd player above, there is no sim card slot in the middle as I have seen on other cars. I thought this was the obvious difference that I have a 2G unit but as I read and search for the Nav Maps update I am finding that it is supposed to be a 3G version. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The U.S. MY2010 B8 S4 had the MMI 3G (the B8 series had the MMI 2G in MY2009) but not the MMI 3G "Nav Plus" (sometimes referred to as 3G+) which I believe was introduced to U.S. S4's in MY2013. The 3G Nav Plus includes Audi Connect which provides a sim slot for cellular internet communication for Google search, Google Earth map overlay and other online services.

Ok so I am confused, how do I tell the difference between the 2G and 3G?

A 2010 S4 with Nav is 3G.

If there is no sim slot, you don't have 3G Nav Plus (no Audi Connect). What year S4 do you have? As stated previously, the MY2010 was first year of 3G and MY2014 for 3G Nav Plus. Of course, your car would have to be Nav equipped.

The first year for the MMI 3G+ and Audi Connect in the S4 was MY2013 not MY2014.

Thanks. I have a MY2015 S4. I'm in New Zealand though, I notice I can't even download the MMI Connect app from the App Store, it says I need to change store to the UK and gives me a button, so I click it and then it lets me select the MMI Connect, then it says my account is not valid on UK store so I have to change to NZ, so I do and then the app is gone, hahahaha.
