I wish our cars had.....
just drove 20 miles today "turning left." Turned on my left turn signal to make a turn onto the interstate, with a turn not sharp enough to turn off the signal indicator, and proceeded down the highway 20 miles before i noticed my signal was still on. My steering wheel was set exactly over the sightline to the signal indicators on the dashboard where i did not see it. Only noticed it when the CD was over and i heard the clicking.
"apologies to my all brethren for driving obliviously!"
my 1996 Olds Aurora would alert me if my turn signal was on for a set period of time (or distance?)---why can't Audi put this simple reminder in our dashboard screen???

the Germans tend to take driving, and the driver's duties, pretty seriously. that's why they're not big on cupholders, automatic headlights, etc. although they've loosened up on things recently (rain-sensing wipers!), they expect you to know that your signal is on and to turn it off when it is not being used.

doubt it.
it's a simple software code.
why does mercedes Benz lead the pack on safety items, such as a drowse monitor for the driver, or adaptive cruise control (Audi too) if they take driving awareness so seriously?
