Does launch control adjust the 0-60 times at all? And if so are the 10's slower than the quoted 4.9 since it doesn't have it?

Doesn't matter if you have a 6MT. Unless you are considering drag racing your car, the launch control obviously takes the human element out of it. Also if all you care about is being quicker than 4.9 sec, most would be able to beat that time WITHOUT launch control. The 10s/11s/12s/13s should have equal performance. DRIVER would be the greatest variable.

I'm not looking at the manuals, just wanted to get launch control to show the car off to people. I knew the power is the same with the B8's but the videos that I've seen, 4.9 was achieved by using launch control. Since I am going used i was going to add a few upgrades, just trying to figure out to go with a 10 or sell my car to get an 11 or 12 with launch control.

Fastest B8 S4 (Primetime) is a non-LC 2010 car.

I think someone did a bunch of 0-60 times with and without launch control on DSG. IIRC the difference was about a 3/10 of a second.

OP, The LC on the 2011-2012's is weak and doesn't make the car any faster... Also, the 2010's overall seem to have less issues with short shifting in manual mode as I can take my car all the way to redline w/o it short shifting... Finally, the 2010's also seem to have less issues with the shift hangups that some experience... My car does it about 1 in every 15 1/4 mile passes... Can go wrong either way but I wouldn't exclude one because it does or doesn't have the stock LC...

I ran a 4.76 0-60 (on P3 gauge) and that was with ESP still on, launching at 1500RPM and shifting early to 2nd gear. Im sure I could do better

The fastest 0-60 times for a stock B8 S4 in magazine tests were MT6 cars (4.4 and 4.5 seconds to 60mph). The fastest launching (60 foot times at the dragstrip) B8 S4s on the quarter mile list I adminster on audirevolution.net are all DSG cars, and the two best are 2010.

B8 S4 launch control is over-rated. It's a great way to launch the car without screwing up...but it's otherwise no faster than the non launch control guys so I wouldn't bother worrying about it.

p.s. I ran a 4.39 0-60mph on a GTECH PRO RR and 4.43 on a PBOX in my bone stock RS4, so in your face ballzdeep!

I ran a 4.37 0-60mph in my fat, tiptronic, A6.
