I'm now considering my options and was curious what everyone is using. Seems like there have been advancements in film technologies and I feel as though I'm not up to speed on this stuff anymore. In particular, ceramic based films used for window tint is intriguing. Anything you guys can share is greatly appreciated!

I went the expensive route, but I love it. I went with the 3M Crystalline; I did 70% on the windshield and 40% around the rest. It's supposed to block 98% of the heat, and seems to keep the interior real close to air temperature.

Thanks. I was under the impression the 3M Crystalline doesn't offer actual colored tints. Isn't it only a basically transparent film? I am contemplating another 3M product, the non-metallized film which seems pretty decent and I like the colors. Alternatively looking at Llumar CTX (ceramic).

I went with a 50% 3M ColorGuard. Looks good. Not much else to say. Spent $235 for all around.
Actually wanted to tint my front with a lighter tint (@75%) like I did on my '03 A4 but couldn't find. Maybe one day I spend $$ for Crystalline.

I spent between $200 and $250 (can't remember actual amount and bundled with PPF installed at same time) for 35% on all 4 side windows and darker (not sure % but I think 15%) on rear window. Nothing on windshield which I believe is illegal here in FL other than a strip across top I didn't want. I believe I could have gone darker in back doors and remained legal but like consistent look on all 4.

Basic 3M in a smoke color - I think "Color Stable" based on installers web site but not 100% sure. Works well for me. Never really considered anything else other than basic tint. I need it because I drive south for about 75-90 minutes frequently so strong sun coming through driver side window which the tint resolves.

The 90% tint is supposed to block just as much heat as the 40% tint, but the 40% tint is definitely darker. I'll snap a picture at lunch of mine.

Just had mine done last Friday. Have used Huper Optik before on 3 cars and really liked it, but it has a slightly greenish tint to it. This time, decided to go with SunTek CXP after looking at lots of forums and reviews. Has 99% UV protection and good heat rejection too. Color is charcoal to black and non-reflective. I did 50 on the 4 windows and 35 on the rear and it looks super on the monsoon and black optics package. Clarity from inside the car and color trueness are very good looking out. Cost was $280. Huper was going to be almost $600. I'm recommending it to two friends, one with a new white C7 vette. Will try to get pics up later.

Nice, thanks a lot. The shop I went to to get a quote is a 3M and Llumar dealer. The guy recommended I go with Llumar CTX even though it has a slightly greenish tint color to it. The stock windows on the S4 are actually light gray and thinks it will neutralize the color of the Llumar tint. May go 30-35% on all windows. Other choice is to go with the 3M non-metallized (color guard?) which also looks good. Both are priced the same @$280. Like having the comfort of lifetime warranty on either one. He said the Llumar CTX is a bit more durable using ceramic materials as opposed to the 3M.

I was told that 3M s quality hasn't been up to par for years, still using old technology. Other brands like Sungard are better these days. That's what I have heard anyway
