Recently sold my 10 year old BMW and the paint had NO swirls or scratches of any kind. Works for me.
how do you rinse your soapy sponge in between cleaning?

I used the Meg Quick Detailer and it took care of the haze! I can't see the swirls as much anymore either. I hadn't been using the two bucket method, but will from now on.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. This forum is great. Thanks guys!

I use 1 bucket with a grit guard but I blast my mitt out with a nozzle on a high pressure setting outside of the bucket. I find that works best to remove dirt, grime, and bug guts from the mit before putting it back on my paint. No swirls here.

Also, use the pat dry method. It will keep you from dragging anything across your paint if you get something embedded in your towels.

I don't think this has been emphasized enough...personally I think you have to use micro fiber towels whenever you touch the paint. They are much less likely to scratch. They clean way easier...ie...don't hold on to any dirt. I think they absorb water much better than terrycloth towels.

First, NEVER use a sponge. Sponges trap dirt. I use one of those microfiber dreadlock things (MDT). I just flush it with the hose after cleaning each panel.
