8k miles on my S4 and I got the EPC code this weekend. Driving on the 15 freeway all of a sudden lost most power with steering wheel shaking and no speed ... pretty embarrasing when the Prius starts passing you! Turned engine off at home and drove to dealer within 15 minutes. After turning engine on again the EPC code was gone. Let's see what this is all about. Needless to say I'm very disappointed with the quality of the Audi. For 70k I'd expect a car without problems ...

In the end, I received an Audi-assisted trade in. I lnow have a 2011 S4. The vehicle was in the shop for over 1 year and clocked in over 10k. Various parts were taken out, replaced and put in.

EPC light is a very non-specific warning light and unfortunately does not let the driver know excactly what happened. When you go for servicing, have them run the codes and see.

In the end, for my original 2010 s4there were missing dowels between. The engine and the transmission. (Apparently 20$ pieces). This caused a vibration between the engine and transmission and when this occurred, the engine automatically senses this and goes into limp mode with EPC light on. Apparently mine was one of only two vehicles worldwide.

The is another possibility. Was there any other warning lights for you? The painted control card on the dSG with sport diff also has a TSB out. This caused similar issue of vibration and EPC light. Had that controller card replaced.

Unfortunately for me the dealer can't recreate the problem and the code isn't coming back on. Looks like they will return the car to me and I will have to drive around until I get the code again ... What a pain in the *** and disappointment. I'm going to regret having bought this Audi car. I can already tell.

Same. I took the vehicle back 8 times over a course of 8-10 weeks. In the end, I refused to take the car back until they sorted it out. Mind you it was in the logs of the computer regarding the events so it was documented every time they hooked it up. For what it's worth you should log a complaint with your national Audi website.

It wasn't a pleasant experience. But tis the cost of bombing your SC 3.0T down the road in all four seasons. Good luck.
