Default Dog Question

Just wondering if there are many people who bring their dogs in their cars with them very often? And what do you use to protect your seats? I've moving from an Avant where I bring my dog to work with my everyday...I have a feeling he'll be coming less.

Fold down your rear seats to start with.

I have a small dog (Cocker Spaniel) that I take in a crate that fits on the folded-down rear seat. I put her in the crate before lifting the crate into the car.

Alternatively, the Solvit brand seat cover is well made and functional, but aesthetically, well, at least it's easy to put in and take out.

I use a blanket on the rear seat. If I fold down the rear seat my dog at times gets pinned against the trunk lid. (Kidding about the trunk lid.)

Our 60 pound dog goes everywhere with us. We use a bath mat over the rear seat. They're great - you can find them anywhere, come in many different colors, shapes, and sizes, are cheap to the point you can just discard them when they get really dirty, and they don't slide around due to the rubber backing.

I found that the hammock style covers don't work well, given the shape of the front headrests.

I put my 85# lab in the back seat with one of these:

The color isn't perfect, but it does the trick.

I bought 3 black(to match my interior color) bath towels. 1 complately covers my back seat. Second one folded in 1/2 covers the passenger seat botom. Tuck it into the creases in the back of the lower 1/2 of the seat and the front seat extension. The 3rd covers the console. Worked fine in my 335i and does the same on the S4. When they get dirty, I throw them in the wash. If dog might be a little dirty, I throw an extra towel over the black ones. Simple, effective and inexpensive.
