DIY: Protection screen for intercooling radiator
#131
Remove the screw and slide the plastic cover under the car .
At some point ,you are going to feel it's not going any further out .At this point put your hand between the cover and the bumper and with force keep pushing under the car .
Do one side at the time .
I was thinking to do it without jack stand and then it was easy to lift up the front a little .
Sorry for the flash light in the middle !!

Awesome job patinsd!! I think I am going to go this route. Looks very clean! $74 for parts isn't bad at all! How did you mount from the top of the Rad? Thanks!

.25" mesh would not have been fine enough to stop the small object
that caused a puncture in my lower radiator. Very small hole and only saw
a small split in the fins on the radiator, but enough to cause a leak under
pressure. This is a $600 plus expense when it occurs and not a good
design from Audi. We have never had this problem with our other S4's.

On the bottom of the grille ,I installed rubber to avoid rubbing
on the next picture ,you can see the mesh mounted and secure with 1 screw on top right side .I also used 1 on the bottom and of course left side too .
Last picture is the center .I removed the homelink and bought longer plastic screw to secure the grille in the middle .
You will have to do small cut here and there to avoid some plastic tabs on the OEM grille .

My top radiator was also punctured and the top is more protected than the bottom .
May the radiator or not stong enough anymore .
It's an expensive repair !!

Did this DIY again. Thanks to patinsd for the great idea on a more OEM look. Did the side vent as well.
Removed bumper (thanks Okan509) which was surprisingly easy.
I used this grill material 6x36 and 12x48 black
Following these instructions

Another friendly bump after DrGP found this DIY too little and $450 too late - http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4b8/msgs/23488.phtml
