Default December Arrivals

Just starting a thread for those of us who are expecting our car in December. I know we are all anxious and want to know who's on what ship and when the hell is it coming! So starting up a new thread. Emailed my sales rep today and she sent me the latest information.

Not good news for me, as the dealer delivery date is now week of 1/4...

Release for Production: 10/22
Ship Loaded: 11/20
Port Arrived: 12/15
Release to Carrier at Port: 12/22
Dealer Delivered: 1/4

This is a huge departure from my 12/16 delivery date. The dates between Port Arrived and Dealer delivered is about 2.5 weeks, which seems a little long. Here's to hoping it comes early now.

Bummer. I was released for production on 10/09. I'm hoping that the difference between my "release for production" date and "dealer delivered" date is similarly proportional to yours since we're both in the bay area. That would mean getting my car a few days before Christmas.

I can't imagine that a ship arriving in San Diego with cars would take two 1/2 weeks to unload, clear customs, and truck it up to the bay area. I mean, geez ... if a truck was loaded on a Monday morning, it would be up here that afternoon! It's only a one day truck trip from SoCal. I guess those are including some built-in shipping buffers.

I'll be crossing my fingers for you and me both that we get our cars before the official dates.

Default Do All Dealers Get Ship Names?

I noticed a while back that someone on the board had received an actual ship's name (the Grand Legacy) from their dealer and that was the ship their car was on.

Do all dealers get this information? If so, if I email my sales guy and bug him (again), could he easily provide that information? Thanks!

Well, as you can see from my sig. - its being built right now. I may have a December baby, but now I don't know. The salesman is mum - no delivery predictions until I get a VIN (move to "in transit status"). Although I was told to expect it in mid-December, it looks like I'll be lucky if it's this year. Of course, my shipping route is a little different (shorter?) - ship to Houston (no canal), rail/truck to eastern Oregon.

It would really weird if I got it the same day of the year (1/20) that I picked up my '01 allroad - after a five month wait for that car!

I'll post again with what I have been sent so far, but to help Chris and Steve - your dealers have a Commission # which follows your car once you order it. They have access to:

https://www.accessaudi.com

Which is a dealer only site that allows them to see both actual and predicted dates for ALL the things Bruce showed. This is a tool that gives the SAME info for all cars. Some things are blank like "Loaded to Rail" until it happens, but week requested for prod and week released for Prod do give prediction dates. Call your SA, call their BS and tell them you want the updates and predicted timelines from the Access Audi site as well as a tell you what your commission # is. This will let anyone from that dealer check the status for you.

I never got a "Ship Name". Don't care now as it is in the USA (Houston), getting ready to be loaded on a rail car for Seattle.

I found out a few weeks ago my car was built. At that time it was supposed to be loaded on the ship 11/06 for dealer pick-up on 12/07. Then received an e-mail today that it's already arrived at the port (Halifax) and should be ready for pick-up next week. I must be dreaming.
