Default Cup holders

Hey everyone,

Has anyone noticed how the second cup holder in the S4 is made to hold like a cup of yogurt or something? Why did Audi decide to make it so small? Also, on the doors, are the front of the side pouches meant to be cup holders? They are shaped and can definitely support a drink... Any thoughts?

I use the small one for Red Bulls (think that's what it was designed for)....and the doors are for soda/water bottles i think...

I don't know anyone who actually uses the cup holders for anything other than holding spare change or their phone.

Of the two cup holders in the center console, the small one is just big enough for bottle waters. Yes the side pouches are designed to hold drinks as in many other new cars today.

Wait, you mean you don't or can't use the built-in sunglass holder either?? I'm not sure even John Lennon sized glasses can fit up there. Anyone find an interesting, alternate use for the sunglass holder?

As for the original topic, water bottles such as Poland Springs fit great in the door holders and don't fall out, at least for me. I don't use the center holders much but do sometimes put a sunglass case in the larger one like Lykuno.

Isn't it odd that a car manufacturer would design their car around a narrow niche drink container (i.e., Red Bull)? How many people drink Red Bull?

If anything someone should design their cup holder to hold a 16oz. paper coffee cup (e.g., Starbucks) -- deep and slightly flared. And lined with cardboard, ha.

id love to find a way to take those damn "squeezers" out of the cupholders. make it impossible to fit smaller coffee cups in there. i have to hold 2 pinchers back and then squeeze it in.

The small one fits a standard soda can exactly.
