to clear bra or not to clear bra?

Speaking as someone who decided not to clearbra early on, I must say that I now regret it. It was a combination of not finding a place to do it that I trusted, and wanting to play with my new baby that caused my decision, and I will probably have to repaint my hood within the next four years just to keep it looking as well as I would like to.

I've been on both sides of the coin on this one and heavily debated this myself.
My previous car, a 2006 VW GLI had a full front end kit applied within weeks of purchase. Yeah, a bit of wax got under the edges from detailing over the years and sure enough, the black paint underneath had to have been flawless.
But for what? I asked myself this question as I traded it in on my S4 a couple of months ago. Is not like a pristine front end netted me any trade in benefits or a better value.
My friends' cars aren't too bad in terms of chips or highway "rash" either... So I decided to not worry so much about it and spend the money on other things.
I did get the headlights and fog lights covered to prevent pitting which is generally very noticeable on polycarbonate lenses but that's about it. I don't anticipate doing clear bra on this car.

It really depends on your typical drive environment. A number of years ago on another (dark colored) vehicle I had to commute through heavy road construction and it really rashed my front end. Of late I'm again facing much resurfacing. The clear bra preserves my sanity now, so well worth it.
