They told me today that it is from BG Chemicals. 2 bottles of BG44 and 1 bottle of BG Fuel Injection System Cleaner Part Number: 210. The parts here cost about $60-$70 and its an hour of shop time to hook it up and run it through the system I guess. I dont know- it seems like a money grab so I declined it.

Although I haven't personally used it, I've heard from some mechanic friends that BG44K is good stuff. Usually you just pour it in your gas tank as you're filling up and drive normally, which means you can purchase this on your own and save a few bucks on labor.

I inquired about this today. It's not just a dump in the fuel tank. It is actually run through the fuel system under pressure.

The BG 44K is a fantastic product and I put it in my vehicle once a year, any more is overkill. For "in between" fuel system maintenance I dump THIS STUFF in my tank at every other fill up and it works great. There is a handy chart on the bottle for proper mixture depending on tank size if you like going "by the book" but I just dump the entire bottle in, no matter what vehicle or tank size and have never had a problem. Hit me up if you have any questions, or contact us by clicking my signature.

I'm dubious about the claims of fuel system cleaning chemicals. A few months ago I replaced the 13 year old fuel injectors in my A4 with new ones (for an electronic problem) and just of curiosity examined them very closely. They weren't just clean inside, they were hospital clean. The outside was grungy and dented and scratched, but the inside was shiny and new like it just came out of a clean room. I've never put additives in it (the dealer may have 2000-2003 when it was under warranty) and I generally use costco gasoline.
