Default Audi ranks #8 in Consumer Reports car issue!

Just got the latest Consumer Reports a few days ago and it was their car issue. They had Audi ranked #8 in their 'Brand Report Card' (scoring by a composite of ave road-test score of each of its models they tested, along with each brand's average predicted reliability score):

1. Lexus
2. Subaru
3. Mazda
4. Toyota
5. Acura
6. Honda
7. Scion
8. Audi – their comment: "beautiful interiors, responsive handling, above average reliability, and one of the best overall models we tested, the A6"
9. Infiniti
10. Mercedes
11. Kia
12. BMW
13. Nissan
14. Cadillac
15. Hyundai

The not so good news was in this quote: "Audi in particular separated itself from the pack as the only European brand to achieve very good reliability overall (only the Audi S4 was below average in our survey), along with an excellent average road-test score."

I tried to attach a picture I took of the pages, but it was too large to attached to this post. But good to see Audi continues to move up!

I can't think of any other manufacturers right now not on that list. Audi is mid-pack.

I typed too soon: Chevy, Ford, Dodge

It's well above midpack. There are many others not listed. Volvo, Saab, Jaguar, Lincoln just to name a few.

Could name more, but interesting that VW isn't on the list.

Not bad. Basically beaten by the Japanese, which is expected imo.

Certainty the best German manufacturer. Not to mention having taken a HARD look at the Japanese manufacturers they just didn't make any interesting cars for me.
