When I saw the price $57.00 at Audi parts ,I asked the cashier if someone can install it for me ? he said no ,we do not have a body shop here .
I did not buy it and went to the people who tinted my window .
They hand cut a piece of clear protection 3M ,intalled it perfectly in less then 5 min. and charge me $35 .

The dealership advised against the clean film citing heat and UV damage which sounds resonable in the South at least.

I have ben looking for a black rubber overlay to protect the bumper(top) from suitcase scuffs, etc. They are available from car builders as well as in the aftermaerket for some brands/models but I have not found them for A3s. If you knowq of a source, please post a citation.

If you represent a vendor, this might be an opportunity for you.

TIA.

Not sure what you meant there.
What do you mean by the clean film? And UV damage from a film?
I'm confused...

Good call. My mispelling is at fault! I meant "clear" when I wrote "clean". I was told that said film would become 'cloudy' withexposure to UV rays in th ht summer sunshine. The dealership could be wrong but had no reason to lie to me as I was asking it to sell me the product.

Nevertheless, I have shifted my focus and am now searching for a black rubber pad to serve the same purpose. Some cars/SUVs come with them and for others the pads are available for installation. Yesterday, I saw a recent model Toyota Corolla and a Mazda sedan wearing such pads that looked like they would work. I didn't have a tape measure with me to determine for sure.
