Added quart of wrong kind of oil
Sigh, I feel stupid. Went and put in a quart of oils as my 2012 S4 was low. It is Mobil 1 5W40 synthetic. That would be okay, but I looked after and forgot to check if it was a blend that conforms to Audi standard 501.002 or something like tgat. Nth is just says it conforms to Mercedes' standard so I suspect it is not the right blend for the Audi. I have not driven the car yet, and I guess I could just take it for an oil change (another 500-5500 miles to next maintenance interval). So what should I do? Feeling stupid....
Thx for any info.

No concerns. The Mobil 1 5W40 oil, as sold in the USA, is an excellent product assuming that's what you used.
I'd carry on as if nothing happened.
Assuming you are in the USA, your car calls for VAG spec 502.00. I think the most common oil (found at W*mart) is Mobil 1 0W40. That certainly meets the requirements of the S4.
Welcome aboard !

+1 you will be OK
For the future;
The proper Mobil 1 0W-40 is called European Car Formula in North America & meets the VW 502 00 specification.

Just a question.
What do you think might actually happen if you did in fact add a qt of non approved oil. Nothing! The properties of the residual oil might be compromised slightly, but unlikely to make any difference in the performance or protective quality of the oil.
