2013 Audi S4 certified warranty
Hi,
I'm test driving a 2013 S4 this weekend. It has been certified at the Audi dealer and has the extended warranty. But I don't have to take it and can get $2K off the price instead.
Now, i have owned my 2006 A4 2.0T S-line since new. It now has 120K miles on it. i have had NO issues with this car other then regular maintenance items (okay, they did replace the coil packs under recall and one of them did go). if I had the extended warranty on my 06 I would never have used it.
Are the S4s more prone to issues down the line that warrant the extended warranty?
Thanks

Given the likelihood you'll keep this car for a while, why not opt for the CPO extended warranty to 100k miles/6 years? What's your peace of mind worth? For me, it's the main reason why I bought my used S4 last year. So far no issues and a hell of a lot of driving pleasure.

Get the warranty . It is probably cheaper and better than anything else you can buy. These cars have been reliable . But when they do break , as German cars are prone to do with mileage, that can be very expensive to repair. Now you will have the remainder of the factory warranty. BUT if you don't get the CPO, you will be in need of some other warranty coverage when your factory warranty runs out.

The problem with the 6MT is that the clutch and assembly is not covered on the factory or extended warranty. And they will wear out at some point. If the DSG has issues , they will be covered under warranty. YOU definitely need some type of warranty. If you don't want to invest $2k now, expect to buy one later.

Thanks for the thoughts.
