Default 2012 S4 w/ 80K

Someone locally is selling a 2012 S4 with 80K. I'd obviously have it PPI'd but is the general consensus to stay away from higher mileage examples or jump on them?

I'd say that it's highly dependent on service history.

It might look okay when the good mechanic looks at it once, but were the fluids changed on time.
Even if he says it looks good, it's not like his wallet will come out when the engine leaks oil after 3 months.

These cars have been remarkably reliable, even with higher mileage. Mine now has 78k miles and is running like a top. Concerns might be, t stat, wheel bearings and transmission issues. BTW, what is PPI? The more you can find out about the history of the car the better. Start Jumping!

I bought a 2012 with 80K last december. I've put 18k on it since then. I had to do rear brakes for the track and I've had to replace a front wheel bearing. Otherwise running like a champ.
I obviously would vote to go for it.
LOVE MY S4

Thing is I think I can get it for under 18K. I've really been looking at C7 A6s but always had a thing for S4's. I had a B5 for a few years when I lived in NY.

That is a great price. I would jump on it as long as it checks out with a mechanic. I paid $24k for mine. I'm the third owner but it was serviced at the same dealer for the life of the car.
