Default wierd engine noise
The S4 is making a wierd engine noise, most noticable at idle, but still present throughout the rev range. The noise is almost like a whining or moaning sound. The sound is noticable in the interior and from under the hood. No drivability issues yet. Any ideas? And yes I did STFA.

Check your power steering fluid level, commom issue, fill it above the line if it's low

FYI, it should be filled to 10 mms ABOVE the MAX line as per Audi TSB

Default Yeah, I was just reading that in the archives, now comes the fun part of
trying to figure out the proper fluid and find it in town. Nearest dealer is an hour away.

Default Having similar problem in my 07 S4 ...filed to MAX line...
Dealer said it might be tire noise. Is the 10mms above max accurate for the 07s?
