What is the average millage for stock S4 shocks?
Hello,
I know this question can depend on the driving habits and also roads that car drives on.
The reason I am asking is because I feel my rear shocks are starting to feel worn out. Car has significance play which I feel is in the rear and that makes the whole car feel unbalanced and unstable.
Dealer checked rear suspension and control arms, etc. Did not find anything that has play. Based on what they said (not sure if I trust them), that I think only other thing to check/replace are shocks.
My car currently has 70K miles and I was wondering if that is a normal age for shocks to start wearing out.
Also if somebody knows a good website for Audi genuine OEM parts, so I can look up and see where I can get rear shocks for my S4. I am not interested in aftermarket shocks, OEM stock shocks will do.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Daniel

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah I am not sure if shocks are causing my suspension issue, but could definitely be an issue.
Any good websites where I can find OEM shocks at a good price?
Thanks a lot

We generally recommend replacing shocks anytime after 75k miles if you're doing any work in that area. The OEM shocks are pretty poor quality and don't last too long.
You might want to consider instead of using OEM shocks (which typically have only a 1year warranty), going with something aftermarket like KONI shocks.
You get a lifetime warranty and improve the suspension performance considerably over the soft and mushy stock suspension.
We've got them on sale through the month of June, and also include free shipping.
