timing chain HELP DYING!!
I have an Audi S4 B6 auto and had bad misfires and replaced all coils and spark plugs. finally pulled the engine out and found that 2 guides had broken and had a bad mechanical adjuster. used my saving to buy the expensive parts from JHM and now i don't have money. i wanted to see if anyone here can help me set the timing. I have no idea how to set it at TDC. I want to see if it skipped a tooth and if anyone know how to do the installment. thanks for your time.

It's not a trivial job, and you do need the right tools. That being said, you can rent the timing tools to do the job right, but beyond that, with torque wrenches of decent quality, the job is within the scope of a competent DIY'r.
Do you have the Bentley manual (or other quality manual) for your car? You need to follow the procedure to set timing, else you will have an expensive pile of parts on your hands.

you can order or rent the parts on line.....a quick guide the slots from the cams will be even with the head....the thiner part is up....near the back end starter side you will have a plug 8mm allen remouve it and check turn the crank until you see a hole in it...the tool lock this part...tdc.....also check the cam lobes the left side near the chain will be pointing up toward the intake cam the right side cyl 1 will also be pointing up toward the intake side....if you dont have the tools it is hard......but use a metal plate for the cams....and use a m14 bolt cut to enter the crank....good luck
