Default Spark Plug part number confusion.

I am having trouble finding the correct NGK part number for our plugs. I've searched the forum including the 3 threads by ESFO, S4for5, and RedS4inPA. NGK website does not list the S cars on their part finder. I called both NGK customer and tech support without getting a definitive answer. Customer support had an '04 S4 Avant in their database with part #6418, or possibly a "multiground" #6872. Tech support named the OE # as 101905616, which RedS4inPA stated didn't match. ESFO's photograph shows part number 7406 on the box, but NGK tech support told me that is not a current stock number.

I am looking for NGK vs Bosch due to easy and cheaper availability, and good past experience with their plugs. Thanks in advance, sorry for long post. 6418 sounds right, thought I'd check here since NGK tech support didn't know.

Default Well

7406 is a Bosch number, not NGK.
7406 xrefs to the Audi PN 101905615A
Which is the Bosch FGR-7-KQEO
These are what we show is the stock plug for the 4.2L<ul><li><a href="http://www.purems.com/products/product.php/II=1750">Bosch FGR-7-KQEO</a></li></ul>

Thanks, that explains the Bosch one. Looking for confirmation on the NGK.

Default Found the P/N's in 10 seconds on NGK website...specify 2004 model year, not 2005

If you want the Iridium IX (which is what I went with) the NGK P/N is BKR6EIX. I bought these at Pep Boys for $6.99 each. Laser Platinum is BKR6EQUA.

Just go to this link and start drilling down.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/apps/car_truck_suv/">http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/apps/car_truck_suv/</a</li></ul>

Thanks, 6418 it is then. Less than $60 shipped from ebay, FYI.

BTW - I didn't mean to sound rude or condescending w/the "10 seconds" remark...

No problem, I had only tried 2005. Thanks also for your prior DIY photos.
