With so many distracted drivers in oversize SUVs I'm not so sure I want my Audi to weigh less

Default real buzy....

Expanding the business, buying a house, planning the wedding etc... I am getting married August 18th. We settle on the house in 2 weeks. So life has been really crazy. The rover is good. I am having my first real problems with it (at 14k miles). The transmission has some gremlins in it, hopefully its nothing major. Other then that the car has been flawless. I also took a hiatus from here after the whole thing went down with my S4. Felt it was best.

Default Not really JD. Long time no see stranger! Don't forget that the A/S5 falls between the A4 and A6...

In size. So chances are that the next generation B8 could be lighter.

First we'll have to wait and see real world weight figures on the A/S5 cars before we can make a final judgement.

Remember the RS4 was suppose to weigh in at 3600 lbs but we all know where that went.

300 lbs? Wow. Relatively speaking, that is the equivalent of about 30 more HP

Jet, this platform, the b8, used on the A5/S5 will be the same platform used on the new A4/S4.

Default The way I understood it is what bpp said....

it should be the same frame design that is going to be used on the new B8. From everything I had heard in the past its supposed to be like the 6-series BMW is to the 5-series. i don't know why they did it to the 5-series since the 3-series has the same issues and they didn't make a 4-series to solve it, they just make 3-series coupes. I dunno I think its a lot of marketing fluff to sell more cars. IMHO an A5 is basically an A4 coupe (B8 of course).
