Default S4 is sold - will miss the forum

Traded the S4 for a GTI Fahrenheit (#321 of 1200). First time for trading but the deal was good plus no tax due to the trade value. Decision came down to an '08 TT or the GTI. A comparable TT was going to end up at about $12k more (2.0, DSG, 18", Xenons, PP) but would have had a couple of extras (power seats, Homelink) while also lacking a sunroof).

Looked and drove a lot of cars (what fun!) but, in the end, decided to stay out of car payments while still getting something fun and unique. The Lamborghini orange certinly is unique!

The GTI's quality feels a lot like the S4. It's quite a car for the money. It certianly doesn't have the punch of the S4 but is quick and involving (200 hp, 207 lb-ft, ~3200 lbs). The Fahrenheit comes with DSG, which as the car mags have been saying, is likely the best transmission available.

I've really enjoyed the S4 forum and wish all the best.

Default nice choice, now get some coil-overs and wheels for it.

I also like the new GTIs a lot.

Default Thanks

I actually like the wheels as there is some similarity to the Sportec's I had on the S4. I'll have to see what a set of black wheels look like.

My intention is to keep it stock and save the $$ for a future purchase but we'll see...

Default Dude, congrats My bro has #139. I drove it this past weekend, so much fun!

And it sounds great. I didn't believe my bro when he said it has set off car alarms (stock) before, and after driving it, I see why. The thing has a very nice stock rumble to it...and the DSG...good times!

The way I was driving it, I'd have no traction on those front wheels once I got it chipped ;D

Default put down $5k for k04s and a ecu and you'll be close to 400hp and over 400lb-ft...

check out APR. i saw their GTI this weekend at road atlant and the thing is really fast.

The ecu upgrade alone will give you 250 hp and 300lb-ft

http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publish/vortex_news/article_1860.shtml</a

Default Nice, time to mod...

My friend has a MKV GLI. Hes got a couple of mods, and he is actually pulling on me, and I have a fullback exhaust.

He has an AWE Turboback exhaust, GIAC flash, EVOms intake, Greddy BOV, Y-pipe delete, and eibach sport springs (I think). His car is also DSG. It is mad fast.

Default They can definitly take around 300bhp. Believe me, my friend's is pushing that much and has no probs

..only think is that the stock DV will eventually tear.
