V1, that is all. Some have equivalent or better range, more features, etc But the combination of...
...range, and location-based warning (arrows) with bogey counter makes it the best one out there.
I'd rather have it save my a$$ from a ticket than have a cool EL-backlit display. And when driving fast, sometimes less is more.

I have both a V1 for the S4 and a passport 8500 for my truck. I like the V1 better however, the
passport 8500 for about $175.00 less (got it through amazon.com for $249.00 with free shipping while the V1 is $399.00 plus tax and shipping) when I bought it was a bargain. Sure it doesn't have the bogey counter or directional arrows which are both great features, but for the price you can't beat it. IMO the range or the two is pretty much equal, the features of the V1 are superior, the question is whether these extra features are worth the extra price. As far as other brands I wouls stick with either V1 or Escort.

I have a Passport 8500 X50...works great
It died randomly after ~2 1/4 years of use. Sent it back to Escort for $50 and it came back good as new. Been working fine since (1 1/2 years). I'll probably upgrade to a V1 soon though...
