Default question about an '05 - dealer recommended oil change intervals

Wanted to tap into the collective b6 brain bank. A friend is looking at buying an '05 S4 sedan. The current owner mentioned that he followed the Audi manual's recommended oil change interval of 10k. He mentioned that his local dealer felt this was adequate. Is this something to worry about in a third-hand car? Thanks in advance for any advice.

2nd. But I'm not sure it's terrible to go 10k with todays synthetic oils.

Default I'm going to try to get 10K out of Valvoline Synpower

The 4.2 liter is a 10 quart sump and doesn't stress the oil like smaller engines. I will run an oil analysis at 7K or so to see if I can make it.

Default Every 5k miles, preferably every 3k.

Did mine every 3k back when I had the B6, for a couple reasons.

1.) The v8 tends to burn oil
2.) It's an S4, it needs to be taken care of

testing by labs on fully broken-in engines says that 8000-10,000 miles is fine.

Default I try for 5k tops with synthetic on this engine and here is why

There are a few oil driven critical items I worry about.
There is a non servicable "strainer" on the cam chain tensioners.
I want this puppy getting clean oil.
The strainer is in yellow below.
There are also two electrically activated but oil driven cam timing adjusters in the mix (bottom pic)
These advance the timing for 25 seconds at startup.
I may be wrong but it makes me feel better knowing these items are getting fresh, clean oil when I start the beast up on these cold New England mornings.
