How important are the correct torque settings vs hand tightening?
I changed plugs on my prior car without regard for proper torque settings without failure, but I'm more concerned about my S

LOL...I'm the same way. On my Jeep I use the "vein" method...
you know....tighten until 1 vein pops out of your arm, 2 veins for a medium torque, or 3 veins if you don't want it ever to come off!
But for some reason on my S4 I thought going by the book would be a better idea.
I tightened mine to 22.5 lb/ft.
