Suckola...
I just got word today that I need to tell my staff no merit increases this year (while medical goes up, parking, gas, etc). At least no staff reductions I guess?
Hey, if you are looking to get rid of the DP's or catback, PM me. No sweat either way. Hang in there bro...

A very good buddy of mine has a construction business in CLT and...
His company is not doing that great either. He has some other things that makes him money also but construction has not been good.
To top it off one of his contracts hasn't paid him for work totaling over $150+K and he having to spend a lot of money to take him to court to try and get his money.

Man, that's tough to read. I feel your loss. In fact, I'm sure many of us do...
during these hard times, we can relate. I've gone in and out of several nice cars, including a new B6 S4 which I had to give up only a yr later due to financial reasons. A couple of yrs passed and I found a decent B6 S4 that I'm driving now and am glad to be back. If/when things get better, I wish you the best if you go back to Audi on your next car purchase.

Sorry to hear about losing the car...
It seems many are feeling the crush of this economic downturn. It takes a big person to admit such things publicly.
Best of luck,
Best of luck,

Hang in there man... I'm dealing with the same problems in my business.
I am sorry to hear your story. I am a builder/designer and went from a 17 year stretch of building spec homes to having to lay off all my employees and completely shut it down. I've been in the trade full time since '76 and this is definitely the worst building decline I've ever seen. After spending the last 7 months bidding contract work and not getting a single project, I made the decision to work in project management for another builder doing high end contract work here in the Bay Area. The bottom line is that my income now is not even 1\3rd of what I recently made in a bad year!
I know from past experience that in time we'll see a reverse to this current downturn. Hang in there and best of luck!

Hang in there, Allan. So sorry about your woes. If you make it out here to the PNW to see your peeps, please be sure to connect for a beer.

I am sorry to read of your situation.....
I wish I could say I have an answer. No one really does. It just takes time. This country needs to hunker down and come up with some crazy levels of innovation to help drive the economy into a growth cycle and away from contraction. Tax and spend won't get us through this, innovation will.
