need new tires - need advice - kinda in a rush
NYC potholes just whacked my second right front in 2 days. Point being, spare is flat, right front is flat.
The S4 is my daily driver, so I need to go get new tires today. I primarily drive this car local + occasional interstate (to the tune of about 5K miles year), so I think what I need is a good four-season tire. 2004 S4, stock wheels, etc. Would like to buy 4, not five, so stock size would be nice, but a convincing argument has a tendency to open my wallet. Hence, S4 not A4.
Any help out there?

I recommend Conti Extreme Contacts
I put them on my S4 to replace the stock Contis. What a big improvement in ride and tread wear. Very good STREET tire. Used them year round. Actually just bought a set for my daughter's Lexus IS 250 AWD. Put on some Kumhos Ecsta ASXs for lease turn in because they were a little less expensive. Also a nice tire. Not a big difference between the 2. I think the Contis had better snow traction. BTW, both the Contis and the Kumhos have the correct load rating for the S4. Neither is recommended for the track

Kumho Ecsta-ASX is pretty ok.
Recently (a month ago), I changed 4 tires of my s4 with Kumho Ecsta-Asx. So far, I'm happy with it.
Persoanlly, I miss Conti(the original tire came w/ the vehicle), but it got worn out 'too' fast.
I had used toyo-proxes-4, too. It was my 2nd tire after conti. I felt that it wasn't sticky as much as conti, but I accepted it by considering its price. Overall, it was nice, too.
Comparing my current Kumho vs Toyo, I feel a little bit better with Kumho (personally).

He said he was looking for an all season tires. IMHO, they ARE the best street tires.
The HP summer tires are great for the track, usually more expensive and wear out quickly. They are dangerous under 40 degrees F. Yes, a summer/ winter set up might be best for some, but others, like myself, have found that ultra high performance A/S tires to be a better option.

You may be the only one who misses the stock Contis.
The consensus was that they were inferior tires. Yes, they would have better summer tire capability as compared to the A/s tires, but not as compared to other UHP summer tires.

Nokian makes a killer AS, the WRG2. It's a 95V & XL rated.
