How long should the stock battery last if the car is mostly a DD?

Cold temps reduce a battery's capacity (temporarily)
Cold temperatures reduce the chemical reaction that produces current. At 0 deg F a good battery has about 1/2 it's capacity available to crank. So, a battery can to fail to crank the car at low temps but will be OK at higher temps. It it's old and weakened the problem will be seen at higher temperatures.
Excessive heat damages the battery through electrolyte evaporation and plate corrosion. Salty climates can contribute to the corrosion that degrades the battery. Overcharging (bad voltage regulator) can damage the battery as well.
