HELP! Trying to decide S4 or Evo X???

"the best AWD handling of any vehicle out there." ???
That's a HUUUUGE claim...are you sure about this? Are you saying the EVO handles better than a 911 C4S or Turbo? What about Skyline GT-R from Nissan?

I said "arguably".
The EVO IX got beat out by 2 porsches but the X apparently has even better handling.
See here for a review of the Evo IX:

I can tell you with some authority that this is one of the five best handling cars available in North America. Certainly it is one of two for less than $35k, and it has four doors and a trunk to boot. It's better than the Subaru WRX STi - tighter, better balanced, transitions faster, feels lighter. The Subaru actually has a better drive layout, with the engine mass lower and the transmission further back, but by sheer bloody-minded suspension engineering the Evo wins hands down.
Yes, the ride is harsh and the appointments spare. But the turn-in is astonishing - sneeze and you'll change three lanes - and once you're sliding, you can drift the car in fourth gear, tires smoking, the world coming at you through the side window, correcting with your fingertips. Wanna feel like a superhero? This is your fastest ticket.

The Evo IX placed 4th - behind the Lotus Elige S, Cayman and 911 GT3:

Article by Road and Track:
U.S.-spec models will finally get AYC (Active Yaw Control). Previously reserved for Japan-spec models only, this new technology makes the Evo X one of the best-handling sports sedans in the world. AYC controls torque distribution of the rear wheels via a yaw-rate sensor to enhance cornering performance on all types of driving surfaces; it drastically reduces under- and oversteer.
Go abroad to Australia to read a review:
The Evo IX is already one of the best-handling cars on the market, and a further development of its technically accomplished all-wheel-drive system is expected.
The system can automatically distribute different amounts of torque to each of the Evo's four wheels, for optimum traction. The 10th-generation model will include a feature from the Prototype X concept where the driver can choose AWD settings designed for variable surfaces, such as bitumen, gravel or snow.

wow.....
all the text cites is Evo vs. STi.
Most people who drive quattro here are fairly confident in its ability to navigate through bad conditions (snow, sleet, ice, rain, mud, et al). Very few of us rely on its AWD to get us around a track faster (maybe a small number of us do). Saying it is the best AWD out there is ridiculous when you base it one segment of performance, like being faster around a track....thats like saying my wifes Jetta is better because it gets better gas mileage....
