Agreed , nothing makes them squirm like a letter from a lawer.
Shows them you are serious and it will eventually cost them money, one way or another. A letter from your attorney may be just the ticket to get things rolling in the right direction?

There are new S4's in B6 form still out there. I'd hammer them for a replacement.
Thing is, they will deduct 'fair value' for however many miles you've driven, and you will have to foot the bill for the difference. Maybe not, but that will probably end up on your plate, so be prepared to eat it.
You may get better cooperation than that, but, like a certain famed Audi rally driver once said - go in like a lamb, out like a lion.
Get as many concessions being a nice guy as you can, then start busting their *****. Good luck with it!

Might be able to swing another B6. But it would take a lawyer...
and that means time and $. If you have it, and are willing to spend it to get your way, then do it.
Otherwise, it's probably a week that you won't have your car. That's assuming they take it out immediately, find what's wrong and order parts (that are in-stock). Otherwise, your looking at possibly two weeks.
I'd be pissed too. There are options avail, but they can get expensive. Good luck man.
