Genuine Audi Battery: Is it worth to go for it?
Hello, I need new battery for my S4, so I'd like to ask some advice from many S4-experts here.
Because it is my first time to replace the battery for my special vehicle, I have no idea which battery that I should go for.
The local dealer has asked me $168 for a genuine Audi Battery and $115 for their labor charge.
Someone told me that replacing the battery at Pepboys is not bad, with Bosch battery.
Any comments would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

I live in a battery-hostile environment (3 summers is above average) and mine lasted 4 summers before dying so I replaced it with the OEM. A quick search will result in a bunch of talk about lightweight and the Optima battery which is probably worth considering... the stock battery weighs a ton. I'm not sure I would pay $115 to have it installed.

Never trust the guys at the parts store with the CHEAP option, buy the one that is just like the one installed. If it does not look, or bolt, into you car like the OEM, DON"T buy it. Bosch is great, exide is also the distributor to Audi dealeres.
For a Passat, I purchased an rebuilt OEM battery at Autozone, on a Sunday night, and it cost more than the dealer for the real deal new OEM battery. In all my years as a tech, I have seen only a handful of OEM batteries leak, but 90% of aftermarket ones do (minus the gel cells, and AGM batteries). Look at all the classics out there destroyed by battery leaks, not in my car.
