Considering a change ...

Agreed with the Doc....
I had an 03 Track Model Z. Great car for the money. Modablity is great now that the aftermarket has caught up. If you're thinking about getting a used Z, don't get the 03-04. They have alignment problems that's inherent in the suspension design. Causes premature feathering of tires and a oscillation of the car over certain roads due to poor shock and spring combo.

This would be his car with the BLING wheels

I know that most on this forum will not be complemetary to the car or the wheels, but thats OK. He likes them both and is compltely happy with the car and it fits his current budget. He's always ragging me about his much better fuel economy based on comparable performance.

I believe the alignment problem has been addressed by Nissan.
My son's car was recalled and alignment settingschanged. They gave him 4 new Bridgestones as well. Perhaps they have changed the suspension geometry in the newer models?

I'm not going to commen t on teh wheels. But I will LOL at the comparible performance.
The wheels fit the car fairly well but WTF is up with the GP family's attraction to mud flaps on sporty cars?

About the mudflaps.
I have put them on EVERY car I have owned since the 80s. In fact its ususally the first thing that I do when I get a new car. I don't know where you live, but in SE PA, we live in the Cinder Belt. In the winter, they blanket the road with exessive salt and cinders. In the summer, they have this rediculous need to tar and stone chip the local roads. Between those to occurances, without mudflaps, you car just gets really chiped up from the excessive use of cinders. BTW, the flaps on the 350Z come as standard equipment.

Yes, but...
It may come back again in earlier models due to the suspension geometry design. My friend had his tires replaced and alignment realigned to updated specs. Everything went well until 25K miles later. Tire feathering came back.
05 and beyond models were redesigned slightly with better shocks/springs, as well as the suspension design.
