Welcome! I will be participating in the reliability research program. I've had my S4 since June and am loving it. I am the second owner. Thus far, all I've had to worry about is how thirsty this beastie is.

Default 2004 B6 S4 - Original Owner

93,000 miles

Problems:
-Driver's window regulator replaced (3 times)
-A/C control unit replaced (every few weeks was turning off randomly and turning back on right after)
-Crappy jack damaged lower rocker panel when used properly in garage
-Dynamic headlight warning kept coming on in direct sunlight, so rearview mirror w/ sensor was replaced
-Taillights prone to burning out every few months. Sometimes they don't burn out, but you tap the taillight firmly and it turns back on (Bad connections in bulb/light)
-Valve cover gasket seeping a little oil

Comments:
Great car. Most major things were fixed under warranty. I had to pay for the window regulator and will have to pay for new valve cover gasket when I do it. Audi service is not that great. You pay a lot for it and they don't give you the same level of service and courtesy a Lexus dealer would give you.

I would buy this car again. It drives like a dream!

Thanks, Tim, I certainly appreciate it. Once enough S4 owners are participating we'll be able to provide separate stats for the car.

Default CPO S4 Owner

Picked the car up on Thursday with 48,000 miles.

So far I've had condensation in the headlights which I fixed (I think) based on the information I found here (new o-ring, liberal amount of lithium grease, and a sort of "umbrella" style cover over the adjusters).

Driving to Duluth, MN on Saturday I got a dynamic headlight dimmer control warning which seems to have reset itself after I stopped for gas and has not come back since (keeping my fingers crossed otherwise it's off to the dealer for warranty...).

I'd like to be a part of the research program as well.

Default Got the car with 30K; has 69+K

Where do I start:
1. one battery
2. Valve cover (60K)
3. Clutch Switch (extended warranty)(69K)
4. Starter (extended warranty)(69K) wk apart (car had issues starting)
5. replaced Cam. (underwarranty)

But I love my car.....and so I will make plans to get the new S4. Second hand of course! lol

I'd like to post separate stats for the S4 starting with the February update. Just a matter of having enough participants to make this feasible.

Just wanted to add some of my issues to the list.

Passenger Side Window Regulator
Brake light warning message - believe to be caused by cold start and low voltage, hopefully it is not the ABS module
Replaced Headlight, driver's side
Several Tail lights burnt out
Passenger Side rear fog light has no voltage to it - no idea how to resolve.

Almost forgot.

I have 48.5K on the car.

Serpentine Belt replaced at 45K
Replaced Battery after belt broke

Did not let Audi do any of the repairs.

Serpintine belt was quoted from Audi at $900. I did it myself in 4 hours for $9.

The Passenger side window regulator was quoted at $190 for parts and $260 for labor. Did this myself in 3 hours, only paid for the part.

Sounds good. You save money from the labor because you did everything by yourself. It's really an advantage knowing how to fix technical issues on car.Great job!
