Default another CPO / warranty question.....

Could someone explain the exact steps it takes to get a purchased car CPO'd? I'm going to talk to my dealer about it and want to sound reasonably knowledgeable about the process!

Sorry for being a n00b PITA :-)

Default CPO ya right. My car was CPO and involved in a major accident...

I would be very careful with CPO. I am going thru major hassles with Classic Audi in Maitland florida. I purchased a CPO car there, which was supposedly accident free. A year later, I find out that the car has had a major accident a year before i bought it.

It is amazing that a large company like Audi would pull stuff like this.

2nd, Audi will do nothing for you. I am fighting for them to buy the car back. I will win but man oh man what a hassle.

Why not just buy an Audi extended warranty?

Default will a dealership sell one for a 49K mileage car?

there was some question a few threads down if getting an extended warranty was possible on certain cars?

I'm horribly confused!!

Default So presumably this means you get to pay sales tax on it all over again?

At 8.25% here in California, that's gonna be pretty spendy.

Default Wouldn't you only pay tax on the difference? Here in IL you don't pay tax on the trade-in.

In any event, I'm looking at used S4s, so the idea is to find a seller and negotiate a price, and then have him sell it to my local dealer, who will in turn sell it to me for $1700 more ($1200 CPO fee plus $500 profit, which I deem fair for their trouble)
