550k milage checkup, $700.00 at a dealer. Is it worth to do it?
The factory warranty is gone now, so I had purchased ext-warranty few months ago. But I didn't purchase the maintenance package at the dealer. Now, it's 55k so I'm considering to bring my s4 for regular check-up. Dealer said it would cost about 700.00. This time, the spark-plugs will be exchanged. Besides those, I wonder if it is really worth to do. Please give me some good comments. Many thanks in advance.

550,000 miles is a major service...
luckily 1,000,000 miles is only a minor oil change and tire rotation...haha...I know what ya mean.
Anyway, 55k mi. service is over $700 at my local dealership, too...overpriced! I'm out of warranty and will have local Indy shops do the maintenance for much less for future service.
Can't find the link to the S4 Maintenance schedule, will edit post if I find it.
EDIT: I still can't find the link, but I saved a .pdf. Email me if interested (<b>mcbaes72@yahoo.com</b>).

I'm in the same boat!
All that is diffenrent about this service is the plug change. Oil change and filter, pollen and air filter, spark plugs and inspection of fluids and brakes. Tire rotation as well. I've changed my filters and will most likely do the plugs myself. FWIW, I was quoted $600 for oil, plugs and fuel filter by an indy place here in the bay area.

I don't do fluid service any more, but all the rest is easy DIY
I used to change my own oil, but after a while it gets really old to get rid of the gunk.
You need a few tools to do air filter and plugs, but it is basic (except the torque wrench, you need that). I did not use the enclosed URL just went at it and got it done in an hour. I am a slowpoke.
For fluid changes, still go to the dealer but bring your own juices. 2 5 qt jugs of Mobil 1, 4 qt Redline MT-90 for tranny (not in 55k service), Motul 600 for brake fluid (if you need brake service, dunno quantity yet). Cheaper that way.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/429527.phtml">Plug replacement</a></li></ul>
