Default Not worth your time. The resonator is that H structure on teh stock system...

However, if i were you...and had the desire to experiment, I'd cut off the mufflers, put on resonators in their place, and try that out!

An Audi tech stated the car will sound "raw." I want it to sound like my 455 big block.

w/ those stock mufflers, removing a resonator won't do much...just increase top end rasp

Default 2nd. The OEM exhaust is very expensive. Just take yours off and run straight pipes for $200....

with the stock cats it might not sound so bad.

Default That is basically what my MTM exhaust is. Straight pipes from the DPs back to the mufflers..

Incredible sound.. No regrets at all.. not sure it would be worth it to mess with the stock system rather than just go to an aftermarket one without the res

Hey I got this done a few weeks ago (just the removal of the "box in the center") because I wanted just a little extra tone. We put a camera up the secondary mufflers (in the back) and found that they were pretty much straight through with the exception of the flappers. So we cut out the primary muffler and replaced it with straight pipes. The sound? Great. Just a little more, but not too loud at all. Can barely notice with the windows down, but pedestrians will never mistake the car for "stock." Didn't notice any increase in power, but yes the top end did get a little raspy, which I'll look to fix in the future.
