Default 2005.5 A4 vs S4

I posted this in B7A4 forum too...

I just finished paying off my A4 which I bought new not quite 4 yrs ago and has not given me a single problem yet. I was searching the internet and stumbled upon a 2005.5 S4 with pretty much all the options - priced at $25.5k. KBB value on my car is about $15k. My A4 has 50k miles and the S4 has 58k miles. From what I saw online, seems like a sweet deal and I'm gonna try to schedule a test drive.

However, the S4 is located at a non-audi dealership and is not certified pre-owned.

Should I be scared off since it is not a certified pre-owned? Should I just be content with having my A4 paid off and enjoy driving that for a few more years? I would love to get into the S4, but I've never bought a used car before and I'm slightly hesitant, especially since its not certified. Without negotiating with the dealership, worst case I'd have to pay 10k for the car, which I'm not worried about.

What do you all think?

Default just bought a 2006 S4 after alot of thinking

I just gave up my 2002 a4 with many mods for a 2006 s4 with 21000 miles on it. I paid 32000 for it but it is a certified pre owned. I could have got a better price if I chose to go with a non audi certified one but it would not have a Warranty. audi gives you a 100k 6 year warranty on there CPO cars wich is why I chose to go with the S4 from the audi dealer not the one on EBAY. The catch with this warranty is that it starts from the time the car was originally put in service. So on this car I have a 3 year 79000 warranty. to me it is worth it seeing as my a4 has been out of warranty for a while now and has cost me several thousand dollars. Another note is that if you have the time you should sell your current A4 privately as you will get no where near Blue book value from a dealer. I chose to trade mine in and take the hit because I wanted a seemless transition into the S4 as I was very attached to my A4. Good luck man! I was sold as soon as I test drove it the exhaust note from the V8 is unreal and I had the biggest grin on my face after the test drive
