Last week I was contacted by a Senior V.P. from Audi of America and was informed that their R&D department has designed a new DRC system. As of this writing, I do not have any specifics on what was changed or re-designed. Additionally, I am not sure if the system is specific to the 03' RS6 or a re-design for current RS4 cars. I do know, however, that Audi plans on replacing each RS6 car with the new system. Parts are being shipped to this country and the fix will be all four shocks, both accumulators, and the central valves. Other than the 25+ individuals that I emailed directly, you are the first to be informed of this decision.

A couple things I need from you (1)the specifics of when/where your car was fixed and what parts were replaced and(2)DONT call your local Audi dealer ....they will know nothing about this. I have the direct number for the Senior V.P. and there is a meeting tomorrow afternoon on how Audi can implement the new installs. Audi is sending a tech out to each dealership to help facilitate the new installs. I guess there is new technology and the current RS6-trained service individuals are unaware of the re-design.

I know that we have all been patient with Audi to address the DRC problem. I also know that many of you hear that clunk in your car and want to know what time tomorrow Audi is coming to your office to fix your car. All I can tell you is that Audi appears to be very sincere about making your car right. This may take a few weeks but I expect to know more within a day or two. As for all those individuals who spent $$$ for an aftermarket system....that matter is also to be discussed tomorrow at their meeting. As I wrote in my initial Audiworld posting, I will do what I can to make sure everyone is whole........even if it involves a legal action.

There are many questions this posting will generate. By the end of this week, I hope to be able to answer when your car will be fixed with the NEW system, how long that system will be warrantied, whether Audi will compensate people with aftermarket systems, how many days your car will be at the dealership, and exactly what parts were re-designed. Looking forward to the follow up and Audi's actual actions. Obviously, they have provided a lot of lip flap in the past and I'll remain skeptical until their mouth check is cashed.

Are we talking only a retrofit for those with the well documented problems or a "recall" on all DRC equipped vehicles?

old system replaced with old parts...raising hand...loosing 10s of thousands in the meantime. I hope new fix takes less time than what my current stay at service is taking.
