The A6/AllRoad/S6/RS 6 sedans, Avants and, in the case of the AllRoad only, sport/utility vehicle (C6 is the current generation and will; the C6 will always be the C6 and never renamed the C7 even with the numerous minor and moderate revisions that it will receive later this year for 2009 ala the B6/B7 A4 receiving the same or similar minor and moderate revisions three years ago for 2005.5), never has been and never will be on the B platform.
These mid sized and mid level Audis always have been and always will be on the C platform (with the C7 platform the first platform to get the mid sized, mid level four-door and possibly two-door, in addition to but not in place of the four-door, A7/S7/RS 7 coupes and, if applicable, convertibles).
Also, even though the B6 and B7 platforms are the same generation of the B platform, there was no B6 RS 4 without the numerous minor and moderate revisions that make the B6 the B7, despite, again, being the B6 and B7 same generation of the B platform.
There was, however, a B5 RS 4, as we all know. Also, the B5 generation of the B5 platform was B5 the whole time it was in production, even with numerous minor and moderate revisions similar to the B6/B7 generation.
