This is the second set that I've had painted. Both sets I've done the same way which include removal of the tire, cleaned, acid bath, cleaned again, RE-mount the tires, scuffed, painted, and clear coated. I requested that extra clear be added to the edge of the wheel where the bead of the tire meets the wheel. I've since had 3 dismounts of the tires and i've had no problems and the paint is great...other than the Tire Shop's machine dug into the wheel getting the tire off...but even with a factory wheel it would have caused the same damage.
