I have done my homework on Audiworld and am not looking for yet another post on DRC issues. However....some clarity would help. Now that many lease cars are being turned in with 36K-45K miles....people like me are buying these cars and not leasing them like most others did when they stickered at $85K+. My questions are 1. where exactly on the shocks am I looking for leaks? 2. is that valve that equalizes pressure diagonally ever the sole cause of the system failing? 3. I live in Boston...what are the dealerships that service and do the work CORRECTLY in my area that have the magic $50K tool set? If I get the dealer to CPO the car....this from my research does little for a DRC issue? 4. I have a Stasis set on my B5 S4 now....is the kit available for the RS6 similar in ride quality? For those who can answer my questions and that are in the know...THANK YOU...I am a long time member of the site and an Audi guy. I own a B5 stage III MTM car....two C4 S4/S6's..one of which is an Avant...and an 83 UR Quattro. This whole RS6 thing has overwhelmed me and am looking to owners for guidance. I went back and read many posts over the last year but am sure i missed a ton. I am looking at the car at Herb Chambers Lexus on Rt.1. This car has bounced from their Audi dealership in Burlington to the Auto mile for the past 4 months. The car has 40K...was driven all year round..and they are asking $44K. It was not well cared for (obvious lease car) and has some evidence of road rash/chips/scratches on every panel. I offered them $35K with the condition its gets the first engine drop to replace the timing belt AND they CPO the car for 3 years or 75K miles AND they respray the front and rear bumper covers to my satisfaction AND I can look at the car on the lift to look for any DRC issues. If they bite....I figure I can live with paying for a respray around the bottom rockers/fender flares and to body armor it. Also...it does not have carbon fiber.....which I must have...but saw a set selling at Shokan on Ebay for about $500. My plan was to buy a car from the South or South West....but you just cant see them up close. Answers and comments would be very much appreciated.
