Default Bilstein Suspension Kit

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I am a newbie and am experiencing the pleasure of hearing my mechanic tell me that my contol arms are shot; bushings high-tailed it to Canada; and 3 out of 4 shock are (....surprise) leaking. He tells me that Bilstein makes a specific, tuneable suspension kit just for the RS6. Can anyone weigh in here? Cost is apparently in the neighborhood of $2,300. Thanks much.

Default Correct - price for the Bilstein A6/RS6 kit is about $1600

Consensus on this forum has been that it's a good kit. There is a Stasis/Ohlins kit that all have said is fantastic (much better than stock) but it's around $3800.

FYI the upper control arms are widely available for about $120 - no need to pay Audi $500 for the same thing! They're listed on eBay, among others.

Default phil@detailersdomain has the Bilsteins - I recall that he likes them. I have the

Stasis-Ohlins - a great set-up, but I have a nagging noise issue with them, as does at least one other RS6 owner that I am aware of. Stasis say they are working on a solution....

Default I knew DRC would crap out but every suspension component too...seems quick to me.

Again everything except the shocks replaced in the front at 52K miles...two (fronts) are slightly leaking. Glad its all under CPO warranty here.

Thanks for all the input. One follow up question: For those of you with the tuneable Bilstein kit, what is your recommended firmness setting?
